He's still haunted by dreams of Helena, but is with girlfriend Anne. Ray beats him, the status of Venus falls on him, and he wakes in the hospital, arms and legs in tact. She eventually asks him to make her feel like a woman again, and an order to the local grocer alerts her boy toy, Ray, of her whereabouts, and he shows up. Yet as greedy European merchants encroached upon Africa, seeking riches at the brutal, heartless expense of its people, fierce warrior Nanisca (Viola Davis) inspires her king, Ghezo (John Boyega). Time passes, and Helena is now pounds lighter, owing to her arms being missing from just below the sholders. He confines her to the house after removing her legs above the knee, and isolates himself from everyone. She gets the book, runs away, but while standing in the middle of the street, gets hit by a Bronco that didn't stop. The plot is bizarre and perhaps sick at times, ending abruptly and with a twist. She has other ideas, but an horrific accident leaves her at his mercy. Unable to come to terms with life without her, he tries to convince her that they need each other. She left her purse at the party, but the address book is missing, so she goes back to the house with him. SYNOPSIS: A top surgeon is besotted with a beautiful woman who once ditched him. Nick throws a party, Helena is invited and actually shows up (go figure), but makes goo-goo eyes at Russell, and they leave together. The good doctor lacks coping skills, so he can't get over her.
